Back in 1906 planning and development was started on a prestigious and distinctive prominent garden subdivision. It was designed to attract affluent and prominent families to the North Shore of Burrard Inlet. After the disastrous earthquakes in San Francisco at that time, Grand Boulevard was laid out as a generous fire break. Prestige was guaranteed through minimum construction cost standards and restrictions on buildings and landscaping. Many of these beautiful Boulevard homes are still standing today and still carry that same charm that was originally set out. As you venture off slightly from Grand Boulevard to the Boulevard the size of the houses and lots are smaller, but are still sizeable lots in a beautiful picturesque setting. Just minutes from the Boulevard is Sutherland Secondary School and a 2 minute drive will put you at Lynn Valley Centre, Safeway, and Save-On-Foods, or the new Lynn Valley Village. Or head in the opposite direction to Lonsdale for additional shopping and quick access to Downtown Vancouver via the SeaBus.
